my essential beach bag items

having the right essentials in your beach bag can make all the difference, whether you're poolside or planning a day at the beach. from my favorite sunscreen to my must-have accessories and entertainment, here's a look inside my beach bag.

SUNSCREEN

there's always sunscreen in my beach bag. one for my face, because unfortunately I'm very prone to sun spots and freckles. a suncare stick for the most sensitive areas, and a sunscreen for the whole family, for kids and adults.

shiseido, clear suncare stick SPF50 + la roche-posay anthelios dermo-pediatrics invisible spray SPF 50+ + isdin, fotoultra 100 spot prevent SPF 50+

HAIR

the combination of sun, seawater and chlorine are not the best ingredients for hair, so I always bring a hair protector that smells great and helps keep hair moisturized and protected. a brush is also essential for detangling and removing sand and small algae from the many dives I like to do. a hair claw is a must to avoid looking like a medusa.

ADDITIONAL PROTECTION

I'm not a big fan of sitting in the sun like a lizard. I'd rather be under a beach umbrella... with my legs stretched out. but when walking along the boardwalk or going to the beach bar, a hat and sunglasses are essential. because it's hard not to get a few scratches over time, the best thing is a classic pair of sunglasses that don't cost a fortune....

ENTERTAINMENT

I have two kids, so my moments of total peace and quiet aren't that many. but luckily, they usually have friends at the beach, which gives me some time to relax. I always take a book with me and some earbuds to listen to a podcast or some music.
